Davis To Receive 2012 Under Armour All-American Jersey Today, November 3, 2011

LEESBURG – Noor Davis, senior football player from Leesburg High School, we be presented with his honorary game jerseys at the American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the 2012 Under Armour All-America High School Football Game Thursday afternoon at Leesburg High School in Leesburg, Florida. The event is part of a four-month American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the Under Armour All-America Game.

"It is truly a high honor to have been selected as an Under Armour American," said Noor Davis Thursday morning. "There are so many great football players across the country and it is a blessing to be considered among them. However, it is even more special to share this moment with my family, my friends, my neighbors, my coaches, my teammates, my teachers and schoolmates, and with the Leesburg community."

"I cannot think of a better place to be recognized than right here at Leesburg High School."



Davis will be surrounded by family and friends at one of the most hype media events in the history of Leesburg High School. Davis is one of the most highly recruited player to ever come out of the Yellow Jacket football program. Second year head coach Randy Trivers has sent over 55 players to college on football scholarships during his 10 year high school coaching career.

"Being in a position to provide a positive contribution to my community does make me feel good. Since my transfer to Leesburg High School in June, I have felt nothing but love here in Yellow Jacket Nation," said Davis. "I am proud to be a part of the Leesburg community and to forever be associated with it."

"My parents and my little brother are trying to rearrange their schedules and are scrambling to be here," said Davis with a smile.


Davis is one of 90 players selected to compete in the fifth-annual Under Armour All-America Game presented by American Family Insurance, a nationally televised competition spotlighting the country’s top high school seniors.  The 2012 Under Armour All-America Game is slated for Jan. 5, 2012, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.,and will be televised on ESPN. 

Davis is ready to see how he matches up against the nations best high school football players in a game situation.

"Yes Sir. Absolutely! I look forward to competing at a high level and developing relationships with the players," said Davis.

Davis is currently ranked No. 17 overall in the ESPNU Top 150 and No. 1 at outside linebacker. Davis is committed to Stanford. Davis will be making a official visit to the University of Alabama this weekend. He has helped lead his the Jackets to a 7-2 (2-2) record at Leesburg in the 2011 season.



Davis has recieved scholarship offers from Stanford, Auburn, UCLA, USC, Florida State, Florida, South Florida, Georgia, Notre Dame, Louisville, LSU, Boston College, North Carolina, Nebraska, Syracuse, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, Alabama, UCF, Miami, Purdue, South Carolina, and Tennesee.

Coach Trivers and Davis have downplayed the hype they are concerned with Lake Weir 2-6 (1-3) tomorrow night and a possible District Tiebreaker on Monday. Staying focus is the main topic today around the Yellow Jacket Football Program today.

"We (Coach Trivers) haven’t had the chance to really discuss it in detail. Although this ceremony will be an amazing experience, we are really focused on defeating Lake Weir tomorrow night and giving ourselves a chance to make the playoffs" Davis said. 

The national Selection Tour sponsored by American Family Insurance is an expansion of the Under Armour All-America Game.  As part of American Family Insurance’s involvement, the events will raise awareness around teen driving safety and recognize the student athletes, as well as the coaches, families and communities who have helped make these players’ dreams a reality.



“These athletes are achieving their dreams as result of their own dedication and the support of their coaches and teammates, their families and friends,” said Deborah Peterson, American Family Insurance’s customer relationship marketing director. “In turn,they are spreading the teen safe driving message to other students in the hope that they, too, will be able to reach their dreams.”

The fifth-annual Under Armour All-America Game is a competition spotlighting the nation’s top high school seniors.  The 2011 NFL Draft was the first time Under Armour All-America alumni who competed in the inaugural 2008 game were eligible to be drafted.  Selections included two first-round NFL picks Julio Jones and A.J. Green, as well as second-round selections Da’Quan Bowers and Brandon Harris.  Additional notable alumni include current college standouts USC’s Matt Barkley, Auburn’s Michael Dyer, Oklahoma’s Landry Jones and Alabama’s Trent Richardson
