It is difficult to look at a final score of say 41-12 and figure the losing team had any chance of a victory, let alone present anything but a meager challenge in the contest.
But the exception to that rule came last week at Ocala Vanguard when Leesburg lost its fourth consecutive game of this season and 13th over the past two years.
The Yellow Jackets were well in control of the game for much of the first half. And, except for a less than fair decision on the part of the officials, the game might have turned in their favor.
That decision came with the game scoreless and Leesburg making it look easy to drive on the Vanguard Knights in the first quarter.
Leesburg coach Ed Hoffman elected to send Ky Littles into the line for the yard needed on a fourth down play. Littles not only appeared to get the yardage necessary for the first down but plenty to spare.
But Littles, all 160-pounds of him, was driven back by the very large Vanguard defense and not one of the officials seemed to recognize the fact that Littles' forward progress should have been awarded.
Yellow Jackets Played Above And Beyond The Score
