The Jackets travel to Belle Glade tonight, to face Belle Glade's powerful Golden Rams.
The Rams will probably be the strongest team Leesburg has faced all year long. Their line is light but extremely quick (much like Alabama) and their backs are big and fast.
When talking to Belle Glade's head Coach, Dan Jenkins, he said, "Leesburg's the heaviest team we've faced all year. We hope our speed will overcome our weight disadvantage."
Getting information out of Coach Jenkins was like trying to pull teeth. The way he clammed up one would think he had Godzilla hidden in a cage behind the stands and didn't want anyone to find out before game time.
The Rams run from a Texas Y formation. They will run over you or around you, whichever they can do easier. Ed McGlamory at 195 pounds can pound through the line and Charley Johnson has the speed to go around the end Even with their strong running attack the Rams strongest weapon is the forward pass. Their quarterback mark Newman has passed for over a thousand yards and has not been intercepted. The Ram's are capable of scoring quickly and frequently.
The Jackets's attack is led by quarterback Mike Napier. Napier has passed for two thousand yards and run for seven hundred yards. Elusive Greg Williams is Napier's favorite target, once Williams catches the ball he is always a threat to score. Tough yardage is ground out by fullback Mike Chatman.
The Jackets stingy defense is led by James Mackey, Greg Johnson, and Sam Rixie. If the defense plays like they are capable of playing, the Rams may find it difficult to score.
