TUSCALOOSA - Linebacker Bert Cooper was the most outstanding defensive player in Alabama's 8-7 win over Florida State here Saturday. The Florida State senior had 20 tackles, nine unassisted.
Other leaders on the defense for Florida State were defensive back Andy Carter (12 tackles), tackle Greg Johnson (Leesburg High School, Fruitland Park Florida 10 Tackles), and guard John Thames, who had eight tackles. - Al Browning
