The Leesburg High Yellow Jackets will close out their home season at Memorial Field tonight when they play host to Maynard Evans Trojans of Orlando. Maynard Evans comes into town looking for win number one in this their first year of football while Leesburg will be out to hit the victory trail at the expense of the visitors. The Jackets will close out their regular season in an away game next week at Eustis.

The visiting Green and White eleven under Head Coach Mac McKinnon have been ruled as slight favorites in tonight's game on the strength of their fine defensive play thus far this year. Led by the 260lb. Jerry Rocker and the 205lb. Rick Monds, both tackles, the Trojans lost by the narrowed of margins to Lakeview and Apopka two Orange Belt Conference opponents that had little trouble in downing Leesburg. Another loss for the visitors was to Seabreeze who played a 6 to 6 tie here against the Jackets. Another pair of real tough defensive middle guards are Jim Ferguson and Russ Salarno.

Their offensive unit operating out of the T counts heavily on the outside threat as presented by Halfback Joe Kirkpatrick who was shifted from Quarterback where he started the season. Ronnie Homan is the type of fullback that can give the Jackets a lot of trouble. Bob Walker is an able running mate for Kirkpatrick at the other halfback post.

The Jackets will have their work cut out for them and the game should be just as tough as any they have played all year long. Their lineup will look the same with Barry Parker and James Walker on the wings and Jimmy Brunson and Chip Bridges in at tackles Hunt Paulling and Glenn Tyre will hold down guard posts with Jimmy Copeland over the ball at center on the offensive eleven.

The defensive forward wall will feature Joe Heath and James Walker on the flanks with Barry Parker moving into a tackle slot along with Ken Ferguson. Mike Sheets will jump into a middle guard post to team with Hunt Paulling Linebackers will include Roger Clark, Lynn Bates and David Webster, Johnny Ward and Randy Brown will be deep backs.
