LEESBURG - Randy Trivers Yellow Jackets played host to Gainesville Eastside at Leesburg Memorial Field at Hubert O. Dabney Stadium last night. It was a hard hitting contest with the game being halted with six minutes left due to bad weather resulting in a 7-7 score. The game was the debut of Jeff Parker as the Rams new coach.

The Rams offense ran out of  the spread, with a balanced running and passing attack. Steven Glover ran for 53 yards and a touchdown and quarterback Trey Johnson completed 8-of-17 passes for 73 yards. Glover scored on a 26-yard run for Eastside's only score of the game. DK Boyd had two receptions for 38 yards.

The Rams defense will used multiple schemes to slow down Jackets high powered offense, which was held to 7 points.

The Jeff Parker era of Eastside High School football has begun with an emphasis on discipline and excellence.

"The kids are really buying into what we are doing, and I am really proud of them," said Jeff Parker in his first year as head coach at Eastside.

Parker added that all positions are up for grabs.

"I've told every senior that nothing is guaranteed to anybody," Parker said.
