Broadway Awarded 'S' For Football

DELAND - Charles Broadway, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Broadway Route 1, Leesburg, has been awarded the coveted 'S' of the John B. Stetson University as a member of its 1949 football team.
The award was made at a 'S' Club dinner in the University Commons, which was attended by the University's President, J. Ollie Edmunds, and the three new coaches; Head Coach Joesph M. McMullen, and his assistant, John HiPattee, both football, and Loren E. Ellis, basketball.
Before entering Stetson , Mr. Broadway attended Leesburg High School and Norman Junior College.
