Leesburg's Davis wins Butkus Award - Bay News 9


A Florida high school outside linebacker was picked last week to win the Butkus Award for the second consecutive football season.

Leesburg High’s Noor Davis, who transferred over from The Villages, was honored as the best high school linebacker in the country, averaging double-digit tackles for loss and four forced fumbles playing for an 8-2 team. He will sign a grant-in-aid to play on the next level for academically prestigious Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Tony Steward of Mantanzas (Clemson signee) was the linebacker selected last year by the Butkus committee.
