Aziz Shittu and Kyle Murphy might well have chosen USC, Joshua Garnett probably would be bound for Michigan, and Noor Davis to a Southeastern Conference school. Andrus Peat likely would have joined his brother at Nebraska.

On November 17, 1979, the #1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide coached by Paul William "Bear" Bryant played against the Miami Hurricanes. Miami was coached by Howard Schnellenberger. Alabama defeated Miami 30 - 0. This is the final touchdown in the game as well as the last 56 seconds of regulation.
