No. 188 overall pick Danny Trevathan (Leesburg High School, Leesburg Florida) joins Wesley Woodyard as former Kentucky linebackers on the Broncos' roster, and both have similar descriptions coming out of Lexington: undersized players who rack up tackles but struggle to shed blockers.

Broncos take LB Trevathan with final pick in draft, April 30, 2012



ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - The Denver Broncos used their final pick of the NFL draft on a linebacker, selecting Danny Trevathan (Leesburg High School, Leesburg Florida) of Kentucky in the sixth round on Saturday.

The pick was part of the package the Broncos received in the deal that sent Tim Tebow to the New York Jets. Denver also netted a fourth-round pick, using it to take Baylor center Philip Blake.

NFL Draft: Trevathan To Broncos, Guy To Seahawks

Kentucky safety Winston Guy and linebacker Danny Trevathan (Leesburg High School, Leesburg Florida) were selected by Seattle and Denver, respectively, in the sixth round of the National Football League draft Saturday afternoon.
Guy was the 11th pick of the sixth round, 181st overall, and the only safety taken by Seattle through the first six rounds. Trevathan was tabbed seven picks later, at the 18th slot of the sixth round and 188th overall, and the only linebacker chosen by Denver through round six.

It was only a year ago at this time that the University of Kentucky produced an outstanding talent in wide receiver Randall Cobb, and although UK is unlikely to produce such a player this year, there are still talented Wildcats whom NFL personnel men should keep their eye out for in the 2012 draft.

One of those talents is linebacker Danny Trevathan, an undersized yet effective defender who makes plays all over the field. Racking up more than 140 tackles and four interceptions, Trevathan has shown that he can produce at the collegiate level, but the question that NFL scouts are asking is, can he produce at the professional level?

Ex-Kentucky stars looking for foothold on NFL Draft boards, April 26, 2012

More than a dozen Kentucky seniors went through the rigors of Pro Day, but it's unlikely any of them will hear their names called during the NFL Draft, which starts on Thursday.

The two players with the best shot, according to most analysts, are linebacker Danny Trevathan and safety Winston Guy, who were invited to the NFL Combine earlier this year.

But even they probably won't hear their names called until the final rounds on Saturday, if at all.
More than likely, Trevathan and Guy will end up signing free-agent contracts, as several of their former Cats teammates are hopeful to do. READ MORE CLICK BELOW
